Outside is the second collaboration for Arctivism between Trinidadian performance poets Borderlines Spoken Word Poetry and WINAD - the Women’s Institute for Alternative Development.
In this project, a Caribbean spoken word poetry short film will examine intimate partner violence in COVID. The drama unfolds through poetic banter and an intense soundscape. The film will explore the psyche of the male and female and how unequal power dynamics can result in abusive situations. The short film also interrogates potential solutions to intimate partner violence.
We Perfect
We Perfect is a spoken word short film that illustrates some of the complexities couples may have faced as a result of quarantine during the Covid-19 crisis.
It was launched on November 25th 2021 to coincide with the #16DaysofActivism campaign against gender-based violence.
